Developing a capital campaign for a sea turtle hospital and refuge in Florida. 

Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a nonprofit facility based in Juno Beach, FL that helps rehabilitate threatened sea turtles and promotes conservation of ocean ecosystems. One of Florida's most visited tourist destinations, the growth of both their popularity and their mission demanded an expansion of the entire facility.

 

To raise the $14 million required, they launched a capital campaign called Waves of Progress, the centerpiece of which was to be a handsome piece directed to donors. I created a 20-page, wire-bound prospectus laying out an easy-to-understand brief for the expansion, which included a foldout of the architect’s vision for the site and a 30-year timeline of achievements. There were additional pieces I prepared for individual donors.

 

The campaign wound up raising more than $20 million, well beyond their initial goal.

In 2025 I was asked to design a logo for their new oceanfront event space, The Eleanor, named for the Center's founder.
